Notice of Protest Activity: July 15–31, 2021
We have received information indicating multiple public gatherings and protests scheduled for Thursday, July 15th through Saturday, July 31st. Tentative info for the protest activity is listed below:
Scheduled Protests/Assemblies
Thursday, July 15th, 2021
- 9:30 am at 121 N LaSalle (City Hall). The group will gather for their cause “Weiss Hospital Development Protest.”
Saturday, July 17th, 2021
- 12:00 pm at 69 W Washington (Cook County). The group will gather for their cause “Where are You Kim Foxx? 75 Women of Color Murdered.”
Saturday, July 24th, 2021
- 11:00 am at 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza). The group will gather for their cause “March for Medicare for All (M4A).”
- 12:00 pm at 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza). The group will gather for their cause “Abolish ICE / No More Kids in Cages / Biden Close the Camps.”
Sunday, July 25th to August 1st, 2021
- This will take place at various locations and the group will gather for their cause “Animal Activism Mentorship.” (Animal rights activists planning multiple small-scale protest events during week)
Monday, July 26th, 2021
- 12:00 pm at an unknown Loop location. The group will gather for their cause “Holding the Powerful Accountable Protest.”
Wednesday, July 28th, 2021
- 9:30 am at 42 W Madison (CPS Headquarters). The group will gather for their cause “We Want Our Children Safe!”
Friday, July 30th, 2021
- 6:00 pm at 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza). The group will gather for their cause “Chicago Critical Mass Bicycle Caravan.”
Saturday, July 31st, 2021
- 4:00 pm at 401 N Wabash (Trump Tower). The group will gather for their cause “Save Our Children March (QAnon Affiliated).”
- 6:00 pm at 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park). The group will gather for their cause “Lollapalooza: No Justice, No Peace.”
Safety Tips:
- If you see something suspicious, report it
- Carry water and stay hydrated
- Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
- Utilize the buddy system
- Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
- Leave any valuables at home
- Do not jump any barricades
- Secure handbags and wallets
- Stay calm and pleasant
- Follow your own instincts
- Leave yourself room to move quickly
- If you see an unattended bag, alert police as quickly as possible
