Notice of Protest Activity: July 3–31, 2021

We have received information indicating multiple public gatherings and protests scheduled for Saturday, July 3rd through Saturday, July 31st. Tentative info for the protest activity is listed below:

Scheduled Protests/Assemblies

Saturday, July 3rd, 2021

  • 12:00 pm at 235 S Columbus (Grant Park). The group will gather for their cause “Jean Baptiste Pointe DuSable Lake Shore Drive Victory Rally and Caravan.”
  • 11:00 pm at 1521 S Linn White (Northerly Island). The group will gather for their cause/event “City Holiday Fireworks Display.”

Sunday, July 4th, 2021

  • 3:00 pm at 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza). The group will gather for their cause “2nd Annual March/Boycott 4th of July: Police Brutality.” (Some sources list protest location as Millennium Park, online organizer page indicates Federal Plaza)

Thursday, July 8th, 2021

  • 4:00 pm at an unknown Chicago Loop location. The group will gather for their cause “We Can’t Wait: March and Rally to Win Citizenship and Stop Deportations Now.”

Saturday, July 17th, 2021

  • 12:00 pm at 69 W Washington (Cook County). The group will gather for their cause “Where are You Kim Foxx? 75 Women of Color Murdered.”

Saturday, July 24th, 2021

  • 11:00 am at 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza). The group will gather for their cause “March for Medicare for All (M4A).”
  • 12:00 pm at 230 S Dearborn (Federal Plaza). The group will gather for their cause “Abolish ICE / No More Kids in Cages / Biden Close the Camps.”

Sunday, July 25th to August 1st, 2021

  • This will take place at various locations and the group will gather for their cause “Animal Activism Mentorship.” (Animal rights activists planning multiple small-scale protest events during week)

Friday, July 30th, 2021

  • 6:00 pm at 50 W Washington (Daley Plaza). The group will gather for their cause “Chicago Critical Mass Bicycle Caravan.”

Saturday, July 31st, 2021

  • 4:00 pm at 401 N Wabash (Trump Tower). The group will gather for their cause “Save Our Children March (QAnon).”
  • 6:00 pm at 201 E Randolph (Millennium Park). The group will gather for their cause “Lollapalooza: No Justice, No Peace.”

Safety Tips:

  • If you see something suspicious, report it
  • Carry water and stay hydrated
  • Choose a landmark to meet at in case you are separated from your group
  • Utilize the buddy system
  • Remain alert and be observant of surroundings
  • Leave any valuables at home
  • Do not jump any barricades
  • Secure handbags and wallets
  • Stay calm and pleasant
  • Follow your own instincts
  • Leave yourself room to move quickly
  • If you see an unattended bag, alert police as quickly as possible
